Garmin Tactix Delta Review
The new Garmin proposal designed to meet military standards and dedicated to the most extreme sports and activities is called Delta. Characterized by a robust design, it reveals a significantly larger 3,5 cm / 1,4 inch display compared to the previous models of the Tactix family (+ 36%), has an ultra-resistant domed sapphire glass lens, a black DLC coated steel bezel and a black PVD steel case back. And like every Garmin product, it offers a wide variety of functions dedicated to training and wellness: it detects aerobic power through the V02max, providing an estimate based on altitude and temperature. In addition to the integrated maps, TopoActive Europe provides data from over 2,000 ski areas and 41,000 golf courses. All integrated with GPS, barometric altimeter and compass. Born to meet the highest tactical and sporting needs, the Garmin Tactix Delta is equipped with a Stealth mode that allows you to disable, even automatically, the sharing of signals with the outside.
There is also a “kill switch” to eliminate, by pressing a button, all user data, including routes and waypoints. For more extreme sports, however, there is a mode dedicated to parachuting, the “Jumpmaster“, which guides those who launch parachutes by setting the modes HAHO (High Altitude High Open), HALO (High Altitude Low Open) and static, while detecting the point from which the user jumped and identifying the desired point of impact through the barometer and electronic compass. The Garmin Tactix Delta is also an accessory for daily use, equipped with internal memory for the download of over 2,000 songs and Garmin Pay, for direct payments to the smartwatch. Finally also a function for advanced management of autonomy, the “Power Manager“, which allows you to keep monitored the impact of certain sensors and settings by displaying the residual charge. Thus making it possible to have an autonomy of up to 21 days in smartwatch mode and up to 80 days in watch mode with energy saving activated. The Garmin Tactix Delta is available for € 899.99.
